Alert
Beginning September 22nd, 2026, 230th St (G28) between IA Highway 70 and the intersection of Atwood Ave will be closed to traffic for a PCC paving project. Construction is anticipated to be suspended late this fall and resume in Spring 2027.
The Muscatine County Engineer’s Office and Highway Department closes and restricts traffic on roads during road projects, extreme weather events, maintenance activities, and other various road situations that may affect the traveling public. Our department sends out notifications to the public safety agencies so that they can adjust in the event of an emergency.

Five-Year Construction Program
All physical assets, such as bridges, culverts, embankments, paving, and traffic controls, continually deteriorate, requiring that a certain percentage thereof be renewed every year. To accomplish this, the Muscatine County Engineer's Office develops programs of work. Here is the program of assets planned to be replaced/rehabilitated over the next five years.
