Get "Veteran" Designation on My Driver's License

In order to qualify for the "Veteran" designation on your driver's license you must:
  1. Be an honorably discharged veteran
  2. Have served at least 90 days of active duty beyond basic training
  3. Be eligible for a new license or renewal
  4. Present DD214 (military discharge) or applicable discharge document
  5. Present photo ID
  6. Report to the Muscatine County Veterans Affairs Office or DOT station
The law has changed; it is no longer required to have the Veterans Affairs Director certify the veteran's service.  Eligible veterans can present their DD214 to either the DOT station or the Veterans Affairs office to complete the form.  The Veterans Affairs office encourages all veterans to investigate benefits that they may be eligible for.
