Some of the many duties of the patrol division are answering calls for service, responding to emergency situations, serving Civil documents, traffic enforcement, doing house checks when people are out of town and patrols unincorporated areas of the county.
 
Special Units within the Patrol Division are K9, Special Response Team, Dive Team and Water Rescue, Crisis Negotiators, Domestic Abuse Response Team, and Honor Guard.
